HSLA Background
Our mission is to support and enhance Scouting programs for the youth of Hopkinton. The objectives used to achieve this purpose may include, but are not limited to
Providing meeting space and facilities for activities to Scouting groups
Provide access to outdoor and recreational areas suitable for camping
Support the goals and objectives of organized Scouting
Therefore, our focus is entirely to support the youth of Hopkinton. Because we are closely tied to the Girl Scout and Boy Scout programs, we adhere to their guiding tenets of building youth character, developing leadership skills, and promoting community service.

Our Current Efforts
As of 2024, our current efforts are:
Continually assisting with recruiting efforts. A significant focus is to recruit enough youth to restore Cub Scout Pack 4 that was impacted by the pandemic.
Working to secure a long term lease for a parcel of land on Fruit Street. This land would be used to promote and enhance the Scouting experience in town. The envisioned initial effort would be to provide basic infrastructure for Scouting events and outings including an open air pavilion with appropriate parking, overnight tenting and well maintained trails.
We are actively looking to procure a canoe trailer that will hold at least 6 canoes to make it easier for any Hopkinton Scouting unit to take HSLA canoes on trips.
